Hairstyling
is a set of certain
procedures aimed on hair trimming, and/or making a hair design.
Hairstyling procedures are
fulfilled with the help of definite hairstyling products widely
available on sale at the free market. There is a great variety of these
products performing different hairstyling
functions; they can be divided into long and short hair styling items.
Long hair is usually trimmed with the help of curling irons
(power-supplied hair-grasping appliance used to curl hair when making a
hair dress); hair crimpers (electric tong-shaped devices used to crimp
hair with styling purpose); hair rollers (small cylinder-shaped
hair-attachable items applied for a long-effect hair curling);
hairdryers; special straightening and massaging combs for long hair and
other items.
Hairstyling for short hair
involves usage of special items, such as hair clippers (electric
cutting and shaving items used to design men's haircuts) and different
hairstyling scissors
(alternatively called shears), such as: tweezing scissors (for manual
haircutting); thinning scissors (for final haircut trimming);
texturizing scissors (for special processing) and other types of shears.
Hairstyling process is
also assisted by various accessories, among them being: heat proof
holders (for curling irons or crimpers); extra hairdryer caps and
diffusers; pouches; cosmetics (gels or lotions) and other accessories.
Hair destruction is an important issue of hair-related procedures.
Depilation is a partial hair
removal on the given skin areas (with the help of shaving or
trimming). Epilation refers to the entire unwanted hair removal
procedure (by
the means of waxing, electrology or using hair eradicating electric
